ATOMIC HABITS- A REGULAR PRACTICE OR ROUTINE THAT IS NOT ONLY SMALL AND EASY TO DO, BUT IS ALSO THE SOURCE OF INCREDIBLE POWER!

SUCCESS IS THE PRODUCT OF DAILY HABITS.

ARE MY HABITS PUTTING ME ON THE PATH TO SUCCESS?

HABITS ARE THE COMPOUND INTEREST OF SELF IMPROVEMENT.  

YOU GET WHAT YOU REPEAT.  

3 LEVELS OF BEHAVIOR CHANGE;

1. OUTCOMES: CONCERNED WITH CHANGING YOUR RESULTS.  

2. PROCESSES: CONCERNED WITH CHANGING YOUR HABITS AND SYSTEMS.  

3. IDENTITY: CONCERNED WITH CHANGING YOUR BELIEFS.  

OUTCOMES ARE ABOUT WHAT YOU GET
PROCESSES ARE ABOUT WHAT YOU DO
IDENTITY IS ABOUT WHAT YOU BELIEVE  

TO BUILD LASTING HABITS , BUILD IDENTITY BASED HABITS,BY FOCUSING ON WHO WE WANT TO BECOME.  

EXAMPLE;
TWO PEOPLE TRYING TO QUIT SMOKING.  
WHEN ASKED IF THEY WOULD LIKE A CIGARETTE;
ONE SAYS; NO THANK YOU IM TRYING TO QUIT.  
THE OTHER SAYS ; NO THANK YOU IM NOT A SMOKER.  
THE 1ST PERDON STILL IDENTIFIES AS BEING A SMOKER.  
THE 2ND PERSON CHANGED HIS IDENTITY TO THAT OF A NON SMOKER.

THE ULTIMATE FORM OF INTRINSIC MOTIVATION IS WHEN A HABIT BECOMES APART OF YOUR IDENTITY.

TRUE BEHAVIOR CHANGE IS IDENTITY CHANGE.

THE MORE YOU REPEAT A BEHAVIOR THE MORE YOU REINFORCE THE IDENTITY ASSOCIATED WITH THAT BEHAVIOR.

THE PROCESS OF BUILDING YOUR HABITS, IS THE PROCESS OF BECOMING YOURSELF.

THE MOST PRACTICAL WAY TO CHANGE WHO YOU ARE IS TO CHANGE WHAT YOU DO.
